Step one: get the measure on the calendar

Nothing can be ordered until the rooms are measured, so the in-home estimate is the real starting line. We bring samples to your house, measure every room on the list, and talk through what's under the current floor. Choose materials with the calendar in mind

If the holidays are a firm deadline, ask which options are in stock or readily available. In most cases, carpet for bedrooms and living rooms and luxury vinyl plank for kitchens and entries move fastest from order to install. Special-order colors, specialty patterns, and full tile jobs are still very possible, but they usually need more lead time because tile involves layout, setting, and grout curing before the room is ready to use.

• Fastest: in-stock carpet and LVP for one to three rooms.
• Plan ahead: special-order styles, engineered hardwood, and stair work.
• Start earliest: tile floors, showers, or projects that combine flooring with cabinets and countertops.

Get the house ready for install day

A little prep goes a long way: clear small items and breakables out of the rooms, plan where pets will stay, and make sure there's a clear path from the driveway for materials.
